Introduction to climate economics: Why even strong climate action has such a low dollar cost” opens with a link to the “definitive" 2007 study by the Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change, which shows the very mild impact of limiting and stabilizing carbon emissions. In short, “global GDP drops by under 0.12% per year — about one tenth of a penny on the dollar." Both China and America under the Bush administration signed off on this analysis.

The IPCC review goes on to say “Both bottom-up and top-down studies indicate that there is high agreement and much evidence of substantial economic potential for the mitigation of global GHG emissions.” Basically, this post links to a series of studies showing the very moderate costs of climate change action, even before the potentially world-saving benefits are considered.
