Milwaukee's Paid Sick Leave Ordinance
Milwaukee's paid sick leave ordinance would allow workers to earn one hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked, for a total of nine days a year. Small businesses, meaning those with 10 or fewer employees, would only be required to provide five days off . A massive majority (almost 70 percent) of voters approved the bill by referendum. Governor Scott Walker (R) recently overturned the law.
